It's not New Year's, is it?

Nope, but we're going to pretend it is, and I'm going to make a resolution! My "New Year's" resolution is to post on this blog more than once a month! We're all settling into our new house, things are calming down, and I no longer have any excuses...

So, without further delay, here's the latest!

Cheeba is adrenal, like I thought he was. He's on Lupron, and seems to be doing ok. He had an ulcer outbreak again at the beginning of September, and we had a heck of a time getting it under control this time. He's alright now, or so it seems anyway.

Sophie has been having some issues lately, and the poor little girl keeps losing fur. She's even balder on either side of her neck, and now she has a bald spot on top of her head and one on the underside of her chin. Her hips are mostly bald, and her belly is completely hairless. She spends most of her time sleeping or eating these days, no more playtimes. Her appetite is still fairly good, but her energy levels are pretty non-existant. You know, when she was younger and absolutely insane, I used to wish that she would be just a little calmer. Now that all she does is lay around, all I wish is that she would act like a lunatic again. I miss my little nutjob princess.

Jebabba has put on a good amount of weight and his winter coat is coming in nicely. I added another food, TheFerretStore.com Superior Choice Natural Diet, to their daily diet as a treat, but he likes it so much that I put a dish in their cage, and now it's all he eats.

Bonk had a skin infection of some sort, but with some antibiotics it cleared up well. He's slowing down somewhat too, but not in an unhealthy way. He's going to be three in two days, and he's just finally calming down a little. He still plays longer than the others, but not as much.

Overall they seem to be adjusting well to the new house. They no longer have free roam of the family room at all times though. I figured since I actually own these carpets (as opposed to renting them), I should probably figure out some way to protect the corners before turning the little poop machines loose. It wouldn't be that bad if not for Sophie. The poor girl is either very lazy or partially incontinent. She makes it to right next to the litterbox and just lets loose. So right now they're in the cage at night, in their big playpen behind me during the day, and then loose in the living room in the evenings until we go to bed. They're not thrilled with me, but they're getting used to it.
